2012 has seen widespread adoption of Wi-fi by mobile operators. In fact, Ovum Research expects carrier Wi-fi equipment shipments to increase by 84 per cent this year [2012] and continue double-digit growth through 2017.In July 2012, O2 announced the deployment of high-capacity small cells in London to deliver fast and reliable Wi-fi. Other operators have also announced plans to deploy Wi-fi to provide extra capacity in dense metro areas and this trend is set to continue in 2013. Here’s my take on what 2013 will bring.
